Born in Saint Andrew, Jamaica,  raised in Saint Catherine, then migrating to New York City, Red Fox is the total embodiment of Dancehall and Reaggae. After migration, at the tender age of 16 to New York City, Red Fox quickly became the new sensation in the streets.

It was during the sound system era , in the mid-eighties, where Red Fox would make a name for himself on “LP International” sound system , where he would battle sounds in the famous Biltmore Ballroom winning many clashes with his unique lyrics and sound.

His distinguished gritty sound and his explosive energy on stage is what attracted producer Peter Mckensie who went on to produce his first record , “Come Boogie Down” as well as the anthem, "Down in Jamaica"which features his sound system mate , “Naturally”. "Down in Jamaica" spear-head’s  the newly release Box set, “40 years of VP Records,” being a must play banger up to this day in the dancehall night clubs.

The promoter Dahved Levy, would give Red Fox his first major appearance in front of an hardcore diverse crowd who is known for Booing and spared no words for their disgust if an artist weren't performing up to their standards. Red Fox would take his name to a new level on this performance, defining the term “The Roof is on Fire”! and the audience were willing to let it burn that night in Union Square Manhattan, NY.

Sting International and Red Fox began working on productions , being one of the first to fused Hip Hop and Reggae together , creating a whole new market and attracting Legendary Disc Jockey Red Alert who was the first to play Red Fox “Lets Chill', a cover version by the R&B group ”Guy'  that  featured , “Naturally” on a Major air wave, 98.7 Kiss FM.  They then moved on to make the  smash hit “Pose Off ” for veteran producer ‘Phillip Smart" which  features Dancehall veteran “Screechy dan”. ’Pose Off' became a global hit getting the attention of Elektra A&R Dante Ross.
